BUNDLED CARE PROGRAM

What is the Bundled Care Program?

The Bundled Care Program is funding specifically for post-operative rehabilitation for patients who have undergone joint replacement surgery. This program funds post operative therapy for hip, knee and shoulder replacements. In order to qualify for this program, the referring hospital must be within a network of Ontario hospitals who provide Bundled Care Services. This list currently includes Windsor Regional Hospital, Bluewater Health – Sarnia, Chatham Kent Health Alliance, Scarborough General and St. Joseph’s London. This list is not all inclusive and if your hospital is not on this list, please call one of our ARC administrators to see if you qualify.

How long is the treatment after a joint replacement?

The funding for the Bundled Care Program is issued by the Ontario government for joint replacement and includes limited post operative rehabilitation. Once discharged from the hospital, patients are assessed by an ARC physiotherapist, and a treatment plan is devised based on the patient's goals and standardized outcomes.  The frequency of attendance and length of treatment plans can vary based on the individual and is at the discretion of the treating health care provider. The goal of this program is to educate the patient on appropriate home exercise and management of their joint replacement.
